The Bachelors Australia: Are the couples still together?

Sunday night’s finale of The Bachelors Australia saw three happy final pairings – and even a gratefully received marriage proposal.

But shortly after the finale aired, Ten confirmed that only one of the three couples is still together.

Let’s see who’s managed to last since the show was actually filmed in the second half of last year …

Felix and Jess: Not together

Quelle surprise. Their storyline dominated the season, with “polyamorous” Jess’ clingy boyfriend Damien getting more screentime than some of the contestants. There was drama, tears and many complications as Felix wrestled with a Bachelor first: Could he really choose a winner who already had a boyfriend?

With Jess brutally dumping Damien on-air during the finale, she was then free for Felix – but it turns out they soon “fizzled” as they tried to continue their relationship off-air.

Jess blamed Felix’s communication skills – “We’re on different levels in that sense” – while Felix insisted to 10Play that the pair were “on great terms” despite the split.

Thomas and Leah: Not together

This one is an actual shocker, seeing as Thomas seemed absolutely head over heels in love with Leah – and even got down on one knee to propose during the finale, an offer she excitedly accepted. Turns out they only lasted “two or three months after the finale,” Thomas told 10Play.

“We had lots of love and care for each other but we weren’t compatible and compatibility is so important,” he said, while Leah told 10Play she was “devastated” it hadn’t worked out. Ouch.

Jed and Alesia: Together … ish

There were awkward scenes in Sunday’s finale when Jed – who had already agreed with Alesia that they were in no way ready to be engaged – went ahead and popped the question anyway, copping a resounding no from her.

But there’s some good news: The pair are still together, but are taking it very slow and are reluctant to even call each other boyfriend and girlfriend.

“We’re taking it day by day and are excited to actually just have a coffee with each other and live a normal life after this,” Jed told 10Play, pointing out that they haven’t actually been able to spend time in public together so as not to spoil the ending of the season.

So there you have it, the starting of a possible Bachelor success story. One out of three ain’t bad …
